I noticed my Amazon Fire 8 Tablet dropping wifi and then not reconnecting.

Here is the fix

“wifi doesn’t turn back on automatically” in Fire 8 Tablet

There is a setting only available when your Wi-Fi is turned off.

> Turn off wifi

> Scanning Settings

> Turn on Wi-Fi scanning.

Preferences will now be can changed to automatically turn Wi-Fi on.
